Frequently Asked Questions

How does using my HSA/FSA account save me money?

HSA and FSA accounts let you use pre-tax money to pay for eligible health and wellness expenses—so your dollars go further. Instead of paying income tax and then spending what’s left, you can use tax-free funds to invest in products that support your health.

What are HSA and FSA accounts?

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA) let you set aside pre-tax money to spend on qualified health and wellness expenses—giving you more savings on the products that support your well-being. Not sure if you have an FSA or HSA? Just check with your employer or insurance provider to find out.

Can I use my HSA/FSA card at checkout?

For the best chance of approval and compliance, we recommend using your regular credit or debit card at checkout. After your purchase, you can easily submit for HSA/FSA reimbursement through Truemed.

How long does HSA or FSA reimbursement take?

Once you submit your receipt and Letter of Medical Necessity, most HSA/FSA providers approve your reimbursement within a few days. Keep in mind, the timing can vary depending on your provider, but it’s usually a fast process

Do I need to take Truemed’s survey every time I make a purchase?

If you've already received a Letter of Medical Necessity for certain products, you won’t need to take the survey again as long as your Letter remains valid (typically for 12 months). You will still need to submit your receipts to your HSA/FSA administrator for reimbursement.

What is a Letter of Medical Necessity, and how is it compliant?

A Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) makes the items listed in the letter eligible for reimbursement, just like a doctor’s visit or prescription. It ensures your purchase meets the requirements for health-related expenses. Your Truemed LMN meets all IRS requirements, ensuring your wellness purchases are fully reimbursable.

When should I use my HSA/FSA dollars?

You can use your HSA/FSA dollars year-round. However, keep in mind that FSA funds don’t roll over to the next year, so be sure to spend any remaining FSA balance before December 31st. Use it before you lose it!

I don’t have enough funds in my HSA/FSA account to reimburse the entire purchase. Can I still use Truemed?

Yes, you can still submit for partial reimbursement. For example, if you buy an eligible item for $100 but only have $60 in your account, you can reimburse $60 with your tax-free funds and pay the remaining $40 as usual.

Are there fees associated with using Truemed's services?

There are no fees as long as you’re shopping with a Truemed partner merchant like Rize Home.

What if my reimbursement is rejected by my administrator?

If your reimbursement is rejected, contact Truemed atsupport@truemed.comfor assistance. HSA/FSA administrators often have specific requirements, so it may be as simple as submitting your Letter of Medical Necessity with the administrator’s form.
